Welcome

Dear Dedicated Members of NEUROdiab, Distinguished Colleagues, and Friends,

The most important yearly event in diabetic neuropathy

We are excited to announce the most important event of the year in diabetic neuropathy. NEUROdiab is the premier multidisciplinary scientific organization in the field of diabetic neuropathy, and its annual meeting is the most prestigious international gathering dedicated to this vital area of research. For the past 35 years, NEUROdiab, the Diabetic Neuropathy Study Group, has had a profound global impact. Our highly successful scientific meetings have greatly influenced the management of diabetic neuropathy, all with the ultimate goal of improving patients' lives. You, our esteemed colleagues, have played a crucial role in this journey.

The upcoming NEUROdiab Meeting is scheduled to take place in Athens, Greece, from September 24 to 27, 2026, at the Royal Olympic Hotel, conveniently located just a short walk from the Parthenon. It is with great honor and pleasure that we extend our invitation to you, a key figure in the field of diabetic neuropathy, to join us for the 36th Annual NEUROdiab Meeting. Your expertise and dedication to the field are invaluable, and we would be deeply honored by your presence. Athens, known for its rich cultural heritage, is the birthplace of many fundamental ideas in the intellectual and artistic realms of Classical civilization. This historic city has inspired generations and continues to be a beacon of culture and learning.

The Parthenon, a remarkable testament to human creativity, is just one of the many cultural treasures Athens has to offer. The city's vibrant atmosphere, blending ancient charm with modern energy, is sure to ignite your passion for research in neurodiabetes and inspire new ideas.

We are excited to announce the renewal of an in-person meeting in Athens, where we can once again enjoy the unique strengths of Neurodiab meetings: the interaction and exchange between distinguished specialists in both basic and clinical science, as well as the collaboration between leading scientists and young researchers. Our goal is to nurture your passion for research and your dedication to caring for individuals with diabetic neuropathy. The annual Neurodiab meeting is the most significant event of the year in the field of diabetic neuropathy, providing an unparalleled opportunity for learning and professional growth. We have prepared a rich scientific program that includes original research presentations, invited lectures, and symposia covering a wide range of topics. This comprehensive program aims to enhance your understanding of the field and will include discussions on translational science, new risk factors, natural history, the application of artificial intelligence, pain phenotyping, therapeutic advancements, electrical stimulation, unexplored areas of autonomic control, and brain involvement.

We anticipate a considerable participation from young researchers and attendees from many countries.

Along with the entire Executive Committee, we look forward to welcoming you to the warm and inviting city of Athens. Please be assured that we are taking all necessary precautions to ensure a safe and comfortable environment for everyone involved.

In the traditionally friendly yet continually renewed atmosphere of Neurodiab meetings, we aim to regain support and inspiration for both research and clinical work. We invite you to attend the conference in person.

On behalf of the Executive Committee and of the Local Organizing Committee

Professor Triantafyllos Didangelos

Chair of NEUROdiab
